Aurora Evelyn Jo Gibson has arrived

Well She final came. Aurora Evelyn Jo Gibson was born August 21, 2007 at 7:00 p.m.
After all this time waiting she came, within hours, really minutes. She was 6lbs 8oz and 20 inchs long.
It started when Stacie called me at work and told me to come home; I rushed home as fast as I could.
Jolene was at our house and I was told to just get in the car with Stacie and get to the hospital. Stacie was having strong contraction a few minutes a part and they had been going since five she said. They were very strong and, for me, scary.
We got in Jolene’s car so we didn’t have to transfer car seats and we were off. I won’t go in to the car ride in, lets just say I shaved a few minutes off the drive.
We went to check in and we were taken in to the prep room because Stacie water had not broken. So they were going to monitor her there.
As few minutes later I heard Stacie’s water break, and was told to go get someone. When I got back I heard Stacie tell me to come in and catch the baby. Yes, come in and catch the baby.
I rushed into the room and could see the head. I caught the head and with a push out popped Aurora. The Nurse had gotten in there with me and we had the baby supported, but because of the way she came out as we lifted her the cord was wrapped around her. About this time I’m realizing she is not crying and started to freak, but we got the cord unwrapped and she took her first breath, and the cry she let out is the most beautiful sound I have ever heard.
We got Ari up against Stacie belly because the warmer wasn’t even in the room yet. At this point there were four or five people in the room helping us out. We got the cord clamped and I kind of took the scissors out of the other nurses’ hand so I could cut the cord. I figured I could do that I had done so much up to this point. Once the cord was cut the nurse took Ari to the warming table and we got Stacie into the bed. She had done this all sitting down.
Now started the cleaning up time. I’m not going to go into detail; lets just say it was not pretty.
I went with Ari to the nursery so she could be checked out I had to stay with her because they didn’t have the ID bands yet. We really hadn’t been checked in.
In the nursery her oxygen levels were low but after less than a half hour those levels were up and she was sucking like a pro. She did manage to get a mouthful of fluid at that had to be sucked out of her tummy, but considering everything she came through it like a pro.
After Aris’ bath I got to go back to Stacie.
Stacie was doing ok considering everything. I think she was holding up better than I was. I will admit I have not been that sacred for a while.
I’m home tonight with the boys in the hope they and I can sleep.
I have left some things out, but that’s OK.

Thank you to Grandmas that took the boys so I could concentrate on Stacie.

A beautiful healthy strong little girl that has joined our family.
I need sleep.
