Softball

Played softball tonight with my church group that plays on Thursday. Wasn't that great of a player when I was young, not like Roger the all-star, but like to play. Stacie and the boys came to watch. That was a lot of fun. Aidan was a crazy man running around with the other kids, plus he keep wanting to bat with me. So every time I went to bat I told him we would bat together afterwards.
So after the game I went on the field with Aidan, first he threw the ball to me and I hit it. Then I throw the ball to him and he tried to bat. That didn’t work so well, he’s left-handed but was trying to copy my right-hand swing. Not a workable situation for a three year old, but we tried few times then I ask Ron, a friend, to throw one to us and I help him swing and we hit the ball. We then of course had to run the bases. We got a home run.
After he wanted to run the bases with me again and again.
I must say the best part of the night was not that we won the game, that I got on base each time at bat, or made a few good plays.

Nope, it was running the bases with Aidan.

Yep that’s a good night.

Camping Trip

Got to go camping last weekend. Bro Rog was the driving force behind the trip. His family was there and Mom and Dad with their motor home and Jill and her family. The boys and I tagged along with Mom and Dad so we stayed in the motor home. Rog found this campground on the solder creek side of Strawberry reservoir. It was a nice little campground. It was fun to get out to fish again. Haven’t been able to fish much the last couple years. Didn’t catch anything, just lost some gear, but like dad said, “ If you’re only going to catch fish you’re missing out.” Something his dad used to say. Although catching a fish would be nice. Of course if I was that serous about it I would have gone out with Roger at 6:00 when he came by.
Took Aidan and Isaac with me, gave Stacie a break. Not really a big hardship, grandma was there so I have more than enough help with the boys. Of course the aunts were there and think the grunting that Isaac does is cute, so he didn’t go hungry. Aidan had been in the motor home before and sleep pretty good, but Isaac was not as happy. I guess I should have let left him in the pac-n-play and let him cry, but I didn’t want to wake anyone else. So I held him most of the night. Not much sleep. Jill says she came by and looked for napkins and we didn’t move. Well we had only been asleep for about an hour maybe so ya didn’t move.
Embarrassed my dad because I was having the hardest time backing the boat into the water. When the boat was on the trailer I did ok, but just the trailer I couldn’t do that to save my life, and while I was working on that I there was a guy that could back so he decides to whip past me down the ramp. Nice. I was tempted to run the trailer in to him and say you saw that I was having trouble, but you put your self in the way, next time a little patience will go a long way. But didn’t need the hassle. I need the practice, strange was last year when I was by myself I had no problems.
O well,

Nuf Said

There was a solider from Utah that was killed in Afghanistan.
My heart goes out to his family and having my bother in the air force now these stories really hit close to home, but my point,
At his house there is a sign saying
"Home of the Free because of the Brave"
